My parents bought me an brand new HP Desktop on thanksgiving day to replace my old crappy 2001 dell dimension desktop. The new computer came with Windows 7 and it has a 2 month subscription to norton internet security 2009 version, norton internet security works very good because it protects me from viruses and spyware. The subscription is expiring tommorow which means if i don't buy another norton anti virus and put in that means i can't use my computer because viruses will get in. My parents especially my mother is so stucked and tight on money and budget right now which means i might have to wait until friday for them to buy it. I need my computer so i could do studying and some personal stuffs on the internet and facebook. I'm really upset because my mom wouldn't buy it for me today because she didn't have any money, I really made her cry because of my temper.I do have another computer which is my laptop but i spend more time on my desktop because it's convienant and because i'm scared of crashing my laptop due to overheating. New to dehydrating foods and need help?

My wife and I want to dehydrate veggies and meats to use in stews and other meals for when we go backpacking. We dont want to buy pre made foods cuz we wanna save money. About an hour ago I ate something with oyster sauce (I obviously didn't realize) and I have a shellfish allergy. I feel tingling in the back of my throat and like there is a lump. I met this 18 year old girl that told me her story... it deeply saddened me. This girl was brought over to the United States at the age of 5. She was here LEGALLY until 2005. So she's been illegal for 4 years now. She told me how it's hard for her because she can't find any good jobs and her college future isn't looking too good. She wants to be a nurse but she says that every time she tries to register for her nursing cles they tell her she needs to be eligible to work in the United States if she wants her career as a nurse. I truly feel bad for her because she had no choice in coming to the United States and now she has to deal with these obstacles that she has no fault for. When she was 5 no one asked her if she wanted to move to the United States and then be an illegal. Is there help for her? I really want to help her out because she's a kind hearted girl that has grown up here and has done nothing but good for her community. Every chance she gets she helps out at nursing homes, charity drives, and even help built a house this past December for a family who's home burnt down in October. She deserves a good future just like she helps others' future to be a better one. Do you guys know of any possible help for this girl?

I'm miffed. A group of friends and myself are going on a trip. There are only 3 ladies going, and we have a lot of big guys to feed. You can go right to your dentist and get a mouth gaurd made for your mouth. I woud highly suggest this because if you train all the time, especially in kickboxing, your gums with a cheap mouth gaurd will start to look like ground hamburger! lol. Techniques for spiking back and top of hair (I am white)?

I don't consider those pictures to be spiked hair. You have to remember that the more you condition your hair the softer it gets which means it will be harder for it to stand up. I never condition my hair. I use "got 2 b" rubber spiking cement. It gets rock hard. If you have longer hair, I would do it in sections. Hold your hair up while you blow dry it so it dries in whatever position you have it in.

OK lets deal with recovery of your files first, cos if you follow the other answers you lose all your work. You have another computer so that's half the battle. If you are confident enough do as follows, if not get a mate who is good at computers to help. Buy a USB hard drive case, they are not too dear. Remove the hard drive from the duff computer and put it into the USB case. Connect that to the other computer and transfer the files, preferably to a folder, (call it back up or something you will remember. Now put it back and you can reinstall Windows. Unfortunately if you have no disc you would have to buy a copy of Windows as it cannot be downloaded legally. Good luck

The weirdest thing happened to me in science cl today! what happened?

so we were doing an experiment that involved hydrochloric acid and zinc. they were mixed together in an evaporating dish and we boiled them. most of the kids in the cl could not take the fumes and had to leave the room because it was so bad. but i was fine. it didnt smell good and it bothered me a little. but i had to finish the experiment. so when we were done. a kid looked at me and said what happened to your shirt! i looked at it. and it turned purple!! it was blue, the retro brewers shirt, and it was totaly purple!! like it got bleached purple or somethin. it was so weird and the teacher didnt even no what happend. i was pretty mad cuz i liked the shirt. but about 2 hours later that day. it slowly faded away. and now sittin at home. its totaly gone and back to normal!!! i have no idea what happened!! anyone have any clue?
