Dude, I am going to tell you one thing. If a girl is needy it is a bad move to step into that direction. I'm a guy of 16 and my ex was really needy and clingy, but I never gave her anything that could show that I was going to be with her no matter what. But I personally do not enjoy a girl who feels they need to cling to me in case I dump them because its not acceptable.
