Some good ideas for a girl b'day party....?

My daughter will be 7 in October. I would like to have some ideas on what I should do for a party. I was thinking possibly having a small cake for each to decorate themselves...but think that it could get pretty messy and I'm not sure I want to clean up the frosting mess. I was thinking I could take them to a venue...any ideas for south of boston area / mostly Plymouth, MA area ?Thanks!
