How come in the indies you can wrestle to your full potential?

I do not know what is the point of watering some stars skills down?? I guess it to make stars like Cena look a SMUDGED good. Just think of all the wrestlers who would have been great without watering Chris Benoit, Victoria, Shelton Benjamin.
