How to perform an iodine test?

I'm performing a science fair experiment in which the efficiency of amylase is measured at different temperatures. I am mixing it with starch solution, since amylase breaks down starch. In order to see how much starch is left, I must perform an iodine test. How much iodine should I use in proportion to the amylase/starch solution? Would equal parts do the trick?
