Was Gandhi elected or forced into power?

Well Gandhi was not a politician ! He was nor elected or forced. He came to India after completing his law degree in Africa. The condition in India and the suffering of his fellow Indians devastated him. So he wanted to do something for his nation. He took the role of the leader who would lead the people to freedom. But he didn't demand any power. He just did it volunteerly. So the power he had was the POWER AND SUPPORT OF PIONATE INDIANS WHO WANTED THEIR LAND FOR THEIR OWN GOOD. He used the ideology of non-violence and peace to attack his opponent. His weapon was far more powerful than the weapons of British. They had to be defeated under his strong policy and determination because they didn't know how to defeat a man who would not fight back even when was tortured. At the end, good won ! Gandhi won ! India won on August 15th 1947 !
